Title
Note on Art
Subject
A note from LeRoy Neiman featuring a illustrative self-portrait of the artist bathing.
Description
This note from LeRoy Neiman consists of two parts--a cartoonish self-portrait featuring the artist himself bathing accompanied by a caption. This caption features the two somewhat similar phrases juxtaposed: Neiman sketching “Doing the work of the lord” and LeRoy Neiman “The world of the work”. Below these expressions is the compound “Reader-Viewer”. The nature of the comparison is unknown. That said, the note is one of many linking art to “doing God’s work” or the “lord’s work”.
