Title

Note on Art

Subject

A personal note from LeRoy Neiman providing a commentary on Armand Hammer, Neiman's gallerist at Hammer Galleries.

Description

This note from LeRoy Neiman—made in preparation for the artist’s memoir, All Told—relays a hokey account of the lifecycle of an imagined "drug dealer." In the artist’s book, he describes his gallerist at Hammer Galleries, Armand Hammer, via a comparison beween "art dealers" and "drug dealers." The record can then be seen as a draft for this later literary analogy.
