This note was of a few from LeRoy Neiman made in preparation for his prospective mural at the St. James Theatre. The venue, which was set to host Busker Alley, invited the artist to paint the facade of the building in lieu of a billboard. That said, the broadway show was cancelled before its premier at the theater. Neiman’s mural was eventually painted over.

This note from LeRoy Neiman touches on a few commercial relationships the artist formed during his career. Presented in a somewhat narrative form, the artist describes moving from painting and sketching at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, under Burger King, to doing Wheaties boxes for the Minneapolis-based company General Mills. The last section, touches on the mural at the St. James Theater in New York Neiman was asked to do for the Broadway show, Busker Alley. (Unfortunately, the show was cancelled before its premier at the theater; Neiman’s mural was eventually painted over.) The note was most likely made in preparation for the artist’s memoir, All Told.
