Title
Note on Art
Subject
A note from LeRoy Neiman on the criticism of french expressionist Jules Pascin.
Description
This note from LeRoy Neiman comments on the critical reception of Jules Pascin. Through the writings of art historian Marcel Bernheim, Neiman attributes prior ridicule of Pascin to the artist’s interest in brothels. Neiman himself not only took interest in brothels but had a history of derision from “high art” critics, making the narrative of note.
